Requesting a Repair
How do I request a repair quote?

Complete our online quote request form, or contact our team directly. Provide as much information as possible about your component, including the manufacturer, model number, and any symptoms you’ve observed, this helps us give you the most accurate response.

Can I send my component in even if I'm not sure it can be repaired?

Yes. We evaluate components every day that customers are uncertain about. After inspection, we’ll let you know whether repair is possible and provide a quote. If it can’t be repaired, we’ll do our best to quote a new replacement component.

Do I need to know the exact part number before requesting a quote?

No, although it’s useful. If you don’t have the complete part number, send us any information available, including photos of the nameplate or component. Our team can often help identify the unit.

Where do I go to submit a repair request?

Click Request a Repair and fill out the form at performanceservo.com/request-a-repair.

Evaluation & Approval
What will my evaluation report tell me?

We’ll tell you if the valve and its components can be repaired or replaced to restore the valve to original specifications. We evaluate the Torque Motor, Nozzle Flapper, Spool and Body Assembly, Flexure Tube, seals, Electrical Connectors, Wiring, Amplifier Cards and componentry, LVDT, Filters, Poppets, and Seats where applicable.

Do I need to provide a purchase order before the repair can begin?

Yes, we need a purchase order or partial payment before we apply cost to the repair.

Do I receive documentation about my repaired component?

You’ll receive the original Evaluation Report prior to the repair.

Do I need to provide approval before you begin repairs?

Yes. After evaluating your component, we provide a repair quotation. No repair work is performed until you approve the quote with a purchase order.

Is there a charge if I decide not to move forward with a repair?

Performance Servo does not charge for evaluations unless communicated in advance.

How do I check my repair status?

Call 866-737-8601 or email sales@performanceservo.com.

Turnaround, Rush & Warranty
What is your typical turnaround time for repairs?

For standard-level repairs, our turnaround time is 2 weeks from receipt of the damaged valve.

Do you test your products prior to sending them out?

Yes. Every valve is bench tested before it ships.

Do you offer rush repairs?

Yes. Rush repair service is available during normal business hours and after hours. Business-hour rush charges are normally 20% of the repair cost; after-hours emergency repairs are quoted at the time of request.

What's your warranty?

1 year from repair.

Shipping & Logistics
Who pays for shipping?

Inbound and outbound shipping costs are a customer responsibility unless other arrangements are made. Performance Servo can initiate UPS/FedEx labels for customers if we know the weight and dimensions; shipping costs are recuperated on the Evaluation Quotation.

Will I receive tracking information when my repair ships?

Yes. When your item ships, the invoice is sent along with the tracking number.

Can you ship repaired components internationally?

Yes. We’ll need contact information about the recipient. Customs requires a Commercial Invoice, along with a packing list and Bill of Lading detailing shipping terms and routing. An HS/HTS code and ECCN (Export Control Classification) are often required as well.

Parts & Brands
Can you repair old or discontinued valves?

We can repair old or discontinued valves if we’re able to get the necessary components and diagnostic software.

Can you source original OEM parts, or do you use aftermarket?

We use both OEM and aftermarket parts. Aftermarket parts are used where they can improve performance and longevity, such as tolerance to ambient heat and vibration.

Can you repair components previously repaired by another company?

Yes. It’s not uncommon for valves to be repaired multiple times over their service life.

Do you sell new valves?

Yes, we regularly source new valves and stock them on our shelves. Inventory varies, so check with us at 866-737-8601 or sales@performanceservo.com.

What brands and models do you support?

We support most brands. Our most frequently repaired brands are Rexroth, Moog, Vickers, and Parker. We also support Atos, Yuken, Tokimec, HydraForce, Continental, and Hydac.

What do you do with my broken components if I decide not to repair them?

We do not save old components unless requested.

Technical & Electronics
What are common signs that a proportional valve is failing?

Sluggish or delayed response, erratic positioning, and pressure fluctuations.

Can you repair onboard electronics (OBE) directly on the valve?

Yes. We repair or replace damaged electronic componentry on PCBs, transistors, LVDTs, MOSFETs, and solenoids, and perform complete cleaning. We inspect and repair damaged solder joints as well.

Do you calibrate the valve electronics after a mechanical repair?

Yes. We ensure LVDTs are tuned, then bench test. Our test stand confirms that the command signal provides flow/pressure outputs within specification.

Do I need to send an electronic amplifier card with the valve for evaluation?

Yes, we highly recommend sending the onboard electronics along with the valve. The valve functions with the amplifier card, so it’s required for us to have the original amplifier card.
